Protezione della Giovane

The association A.C.I.S.J.F. Protezione della Giovane, founded in Verona in the early 1980s, was created to offer shelter, heed, material and moral support to women in difficulty, often far from or estranged from their families, but also to respond to social issues related to the housing emergency for women.

 

Every year, the association dedicates itself to the training and reception of women in difficulty, collaborating with a network of public and private support in the field of housing emergencies, which can help to constantly improve the services offered to guests.

Its main activities, as set out in its Statute, include social intervention, education and vocational training, cultural and recreational promotion, prevention of early school leaving and bullying, support for educational poverty and social housing. In addition, the association provides humanitarian assistance to migrants, promotes human and civil rights, and offers goods and services to disadvantaged people.

 

The association supports its daily activities through donations and fundraising, but also thanks to numerous contributions from foundations, credit institutions and the support of Ulss 9 Scaligera, the Municipality of Verona and the Metropolitan Province.

The facility, located in Via Pigna 7, has 50 beds, of which 40 are reserved for women or children in emergency situations and 10 are dedicated to a women’s hostel, an activity that also allows the association to finance itself.
