Una, Nessuna, Centomila
Una, Nessuna, Centomila is an Italian foundation dedicated to preventing and fighting violence against women. Through its support for anti-violence centres across the country, it is committed not only to preventing and fighting violence, but also to promoting cultural change for the defence of women’s rights and against gender-based violence using artistic and immediate forms of expression such as music, theatre and cinema.
In Italy every three days a woman is killed by her partner, or ex-partner, and 90% of victims of violence do not report it, often out of fear or lack of adequate support.
Faced with this emergency, the Foundation does not limit itself to raising awareness, but takes concrete action. On the one hand, it raises funds for anti-violence centres, which are essential organisations that welcome thousands of women every year, and for numerous projects that promote women’s self-determination and economic independence; on the other hand, it aims to bring about cultural change by organising meetings in schools to combat gender stereotypes and promote emotional education.
In addition, the Foundation organises concerts, artistic events and educational programmes, involving figures from the world of music and culture because it strongly believes that art can be a powerful megaphone for raising awareness and pushing society to react.
