ASLA Association

The Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis Association (ASLA) is an organization active in North-East Italy, dedicated to improving the quality of life of people affected by ALS and supporting their families. Its activities span several areas.

First of all, ASLA provides a listening and welcoming point for patients and their families, offering information on available social and healthcare services and acting as a liaison with institutions to ensure adequate care. A central role of the association is supporting the ALS Center at the Neurology Clinic of Padua, which serves as a regional reference point for diagnosis, care, and research. Here, ASLA complements the medical team with professionals such as psychologists, case managers, and occupational therapists, contributing to a comprehensive approach to patient care.

The association also collaborates with several public healthcare facilities in the provinces of Padua, Vicenza, Verona, and Pordenone, thereby improving care through specialized professionals. Additionally, it supports clinical research at the Outpatient Clinic for Neuromuscular Diseases of the Padua Hospital, coordinating studies and facilitating contact between patients and doctors.

Beyond medical support, ASLA provides psychological assistance to both patients and families, organizes home-based occupational therapy interventions to help with daily life management and environmental adaptation, and promotes training courses and conferences to update the skills of healthcare professionals.

Finally, the association is committed to raising awareness of ALS through events and initiatives, encouraging community participation and fundraising to support all its activities.
