2024/25 Coppa Italia Primavera | Against Vicenza is great Verona: the Yellow-Blues win 4-2 and go forward to round of 32

Verona - It ended 4-2 Hellas Verona-Vicenza, the round of 64 of the 2024/25 Primavera Italian Cup.

Coming to the report, Verona started ahead.

In the 14th minute, the Yellow-Blue midfielder Dalla Riva, receiving a pass from Vermesan in the box, kicked with great speed and power from the first intention and put the Vicenza goalkeeper, Gallo, through on his feet.

A minute later, on 15th minutes, came Vicenza's equaliser. Garnero, triggered by a filtering pass from Soragni, with a follow-through, flew in one-on-one with Zouaghi and kicked towards goal, making it 1-1.

In the 29th minute it was Verona again. Szimionas, with an action similar to that of the first Yellow-Blue goal, again receives a pass from Vermesan and shoots diagonally without thinking twice: the visiting goalkeeper stretches out in the dive but the conclusion goes straight into the bottom right corner of the net.

In the 33rd minute, the guests tried to respond. Tonon's cross was timed just right and Mogentale’s header failed to find the target: his shot finished high over the crossbar.

In the 39th minute the Biancorossi equalised, again with Garnero. The number 11, kicking left-footed on the second post from the edge of the area, signed the 2-2 that closed the first part of the match.

In the second half, on 62nd minutes Hellas tried. Agbonifo, thanks to a rebound of the ball that goes over the Biancorossi's defence, inserts himself between the lines and recovers the ball: the number 7, however, is unable to coordinate well and, on the volley, shoots high over the crossbar.

Verona again in the 70th minute: on the low, tense cross from newcomer Scharner, the Yellow-Blue attackers try to pounce but Vicenza's number 1, Gallo, comes out in a low catch and protects the ball.

In the 79th minute came the 3-2 Verona goal. Newly-entered Popovic, breaking clear of the defence on the development of a free-kick taken by Agbonifo, finds himself, after a header by Vermesan, the ball on his left and, with a paw, slips it into the back of the net.

In the 88th minute another goal arrived for the Scaligeri, once again thanks to a header by Vermesan: the number 10, Pavanati, ventured onto the ball and, with his left foot, slammed it into the goal from the edge of the penalty area, beating Gallo.

After five minutes of added time, the match ended 4-2.

Verona 's next engagement will be on Saturday 2 November (1 PM) when the Yellow-Blues will face AC Milan away at the “Puma House of Football - Centro P. Vismara” stadium, a match valid for the 10th fixture of the 2024/25 Primavera 1.
