Primavera 1 2025/26 | Away trip to Puglia for the Gialloblù, Verona face Lecce on Sunday

Verona – Second consecutive away match for Verona, who are preparing to face Matchday 35 of the Primavera 1 2025/26 season.

This week, the team coached by Alessandro Montorio will take on Lecce, led by Simone Schipa. The match will be played on Sunday, April 26 at 11 AM at the 'Deghi Center' in San Pietro in Lama (LE).

Verona head into the match following their victory in the last round against Cremonese. The Gialloblù took the lead in the 16th minute thanks to a goal from Dezio, scoring on his Primavera debut, but the hosts equalized with Gashi just before halftime. In the 71st minute, Akale restored Verona’s lead: with this goal, the forward reached double figures for the season. Szimionas sealed the result on a well-executed counterattack, making it 3-1. With this win, Hellas return to winning ways and move up to 45 points, one point behind Monza and two behind Juventus and Lecce.

Lecce are currently going through a difficult period, with two losses and three draws in their last five matches. Their most recent game was a 1-0 defeat against Inter. The Giallorossi sit in ninth place with 47 points, five points away from the playoff zone.

The first meeting between the two sides saw Lecce win 0-3 at the 'Olivieri' stadium, with goals from Esteban, Kovac, and Onyemach.

These were the words of coach Alessandro Montorio ahead of the match: “On the eve of this game, the group has worked with intensity and focus, showing great commitment and a strong team spirit. We know we are facing a tough match, away from home and against a quality opponent, but we arrive confident in our abilities and boosted by the win in Cremona. The team is improving game by game, and our goal is to maintain consistency in performances, keeping our identity, balance, and courage. I expect a real battle, where attitude will be crucial: determination, focus, and the ability to read the key moments of the game. The players know what this shirt represents, and I’m confident they will step onto the pitch with the right sense of responsibility. Great respect for the opponent, but without giving up our style of play".

The referee for the match will be Alessandro Recchia (AIA Brindisi), assisted by Giovanni Francesco Massari (AIA Molfetta) and Angelo Tomasi (AIA Lecce).
