Primavera 1 2025/26 | Final Matchday: Verona Host Roma at the Olivieri Stadium

Verona – Final outing of the season for Hellas Verona, who will take to the pitch in the opening fixture of Matchday 38 of the Primavera 1 2025/26 season.

The team coached by Alessandro Montorio will face Roma, led by Federico Guidi. The match is scheduled for Friday 15 May at 3 PM at the Olivieri Stadium in Verona.

Montorio’s Hellas Verona head into the final league match aiming to improve their position in the standings. After securing safety with a 5-2 victory over Napoli on Matchday 36, the Gialloblù travelled to face Inter, who are still battling for the final playoff spot. The Nerazzurri came away with a 4-2 win, although there were positive signs for Verona thanks to goals from Martini and Feola — both scoring in consecutive matches — as well as the first starts for Bortolotti, Borghi and Garofalo.

Roma, already guaranteed a place in the playoffs, must win in order to hold onto fourth place and secure home advantage in the final phase of the competition ahead of Bologna and Atalanta. The Giallorossi have recorded four draws and one win in their last five matches, and another draw may not be enough for Guidi’s side if Bologna win their fixture.

The reverse fixture ended in a 1-0 victory for Roma thanks to Arena’s goal in the 81st minute, while Verona came close to equalising in stoppage time when they struck the crossbar.

These were the words of coach Alessandro Montorio ahead of the match: "Tomorrow we face a Roma side fighting for a strong playoff position, and that will certainly raise the intensity and focus of the match. They are a very strong team, one of the best squads in the league, and we expect them to be at full strength and highly motivated. For us, it will be a very useful test that will require personality, freedom of expression and a spirit of sacrifice. We are coming off a very positive week of training, worked with great enthusiasm and awareness. The match in Milan against Inter gave us encouraging signs: we gave opportunities to some very interesting young players and, at times, the team played football of good quality, showing courage and a strong identity. These are signs that allow us to look ahead with confidence. What we want to see tomorrow is continuity in terms of attitude, competitiveness and collective growth. Beyond the result, matches like this are also important to build for the future and strengthen a path that is giving us important answers".

The referee for the match will be Michele Maccorin (AIA Pordenone), assisted by Matteo Nigri (AIA Trieste) and Marco Munitello (AIA Gradisca d’Isonzo).
