Primavera 1 2026/27 | AlbinoLeffe visit the 'Olivieri' stadium

Verona – The Gialloblù Primavera side return to action as they host newly promoted AlbinoLeffe at the Olivieri stadium for Matchday 8 of the league season.

Following their defeat away to Como, the Primavera side coached by Pavanel return to home soil to face another team promoted from Primavera 2: AlbinoLeffe, led by Head Coach Massimo Maffioletti.

In the last matchday, Verona were beaten in the rain in Rovello Porro, following an evenly contested game in which they matched the Lariani. The decisive goal came late on, when Baralla struck with a right-footed effort that took a deflection off the Gialloblù defence and left Raccanello with no chance.

The 1-0 defeat to Como leaves Pavanel’s side in 16th place in the standings, with 7 points from 2 wins, 1 draw and 3 defeats. The match against AlbinoLeffe therefore represents an opportunity to get back to picking up points, a month after their draw against Torino.

The match against the Bergamo-based side will take place on Sunday 25 October at 1PM, at the 'Olivieri' stadium on Via Sogare in Verona. Last season, AlbinoLeffe finished fourth in Group A of the Primavera 2 league with 47 points, 14 fewer than Como. Having qualified for the play-offs, the Blucelesti defeated Pescara on penalties, beat Lecco 5-1 and overcame Modena 3-2 in the final, thereby securing promotion to Primavera 1.

This season, the team coached by Maffioletti have collected 4 points so far, beating Juventus 2-1 and drawing 0-0 with Cesena. The Blucelesti currently sit bottom of the standings, 3 points behind the Gialloblù. In the last matchday, they suffered a 2-0 defeat to Fiorentina.

Speaking ahead of the match, Head Coach Pavanel said: "In recent days, we have received encouraging news regarding the recovery of some players, which is essential in preparing as well as possible for a match that, like all those we have played so far, is important. Our aim is to get back to picking up points, while showing the utmost respect for every opponent. The objective remains to find our own way and improve how we play with every match."

The match will be refereed by Alessio Vincenzi (AIA Section of Bologna), assisted by Leonardo Tesi (AIA Section of Padua) and Stefano Petarlin (AIA Section of Vicenza).
