Primavera 1 2026/27 | Away fixture against Fiorentina on Monday

Verona – The Viola Park will be the next destination for Hellas Verona, who will face Fiorentina on matchday 2 of Primavera 1.

After suffering a home defeat against Cesena in their opening fixture, Coach Pavanel's side will be looking for a response when they face the reigning Italian champions on Monday 31 August at 4.45PM at the Viola Park.

In their first outing of the season, the Gialloblù created a couple of dangerous opportunities in the first half through Gardin and Moisa, but were unable to find the net. In the second half, Tonti's goal gave the previously balanced match a different direction in favour of the Romagna side. Late attempts from Buniotto, who was particularly lively towards the end of the game, were not enough to turn the result around.

Mevale Kone, a 2007-born attacking winger, also joined the Gialloblù squad this week. The Ivorian first made a name for himself with Vigor Senigallia in the lower divisions before moving to Fiorentina in summer 2025. He will now immediately face his recent former club, with whom, under the guidance of Galloppa, he helped win the Primavera Scudetto.

This season, the Tuscan side have appointed Aurelio Andreazzoli as their head coach. The highly experienced manager, who has worked extensively in the top divisions, has decided to return to youth football.

Fiorentina began their league campaign with an away point at Sassuolo, secured in the closing stages thanks to Jallow's goal, which restored parity with a first-time volley underneath the crossbar.

Andreazzoli can count on a winning group coming off last season's triumphant campaign, strengthened by several players promoted from the Under-18 side, who won the latest edition of the Viareggio Cup.

In the 2025/26 season, Fiorentina finished the Regular Season in first place with 19 wins, 11 draws and 8 defeats in 38 matches. In the knockout phase, Coach Galloppa's side, now in charge of Modena, defeated Bologna 2-0 in the semi-finals before overcoming Parma in the final, with goals from Braschi and Kouadio.

In the last meeting played in Tuscany, the Gialloblù earned a draw (1-1) thanks to Vermesan's goal.

Massimo Pavanel had this to say about the upcoming match: "On Sunday we will face the reigning Italian champions. It will be a difficult challenge, but I have great confidence in the players based on the way I have seen them work. We all know that this is a year of change, in which we are trying to build a path. I am seeing a lot of commitment and the players are becoming a team. We still have a lot of room for growth and a very difficult match awaits us, but we will approach it with the right spirit. Little by little, we will integrate the new players who will give us a helping hand, consequently improving the squad, and I am confident about the rest of the season. Fiorentina are coached by a great manager, an experienced and astute coach. We will try to put everything we have worked on so far onto the pitch, with something extra compared to last Sunday's match against Cesena. We need to be more aggressive overall in order to be competitive in such a difficult league".
