Primavera 1 2026/27 | Verona set to face Torino

Turin – Verona return to away action after two consecutive matches at the Olivieri Stadium.

After four matchdays, the Gialloblù have recorded 2 wins and 2 defeats, and Massimo Pavanel’s side will be looking to build on their strong performance against Milan when they take on Torino.

In their last fixture, the Gialloblù beat Milan 2-0, with the Rossoneri unbeaten up to that point. Hellas put in an organised performance, allowing their opponents few chances and capitalising on two mistakes by the visiting goalkeeper while playing out from the back. The first goal came in the 39th minute, when Gardin scored following a touch from Akale. The second arrived in the 89th minute, with Intrabartolo winning the ball high up the pitch before De Rossi finished with his left foot to seal the win.

The Gialloblù will now return to action away to Torino, with the fixture scheduled for Saturday 19 September at 3PM at the ‘Centro Sportivo Robaldo’. In last season’s Primavera 1, the Granata finished 13th with 47 points, one fewer than Verona.

This season, following a difficult start, Francesco Baldini’s side have shown signs of improvement, recording their first win of the campaign with a 3-1 victory away to Atalanta. So far, the Granata have collected 4 points from 4 matchdays, with one win against the Bergamaschi, a draw against Lecce and defeats to Como and Milan, who were beaten by Verona in the previous matchday.

Ahead of the fixture, Head Coach Pavanel said: “It is certainly an interesting match for many reasons. We are facing a team built to challenge near the top of the table. Despite not making the best start, they won on Sunday and played well against Atalanta in Bergamo. They play with many 2007-born players who are very well built physically. They are a different team compared to Milan and Fiorentina, and I consider them one of the strongest physically, alongside Parma. They know how to play, and they have very fast attacking wide players. It will be a very tough match. We need to build on the positives from Sunday, always taking a small step forward. We need to stay in the game, help each other and improve as a team. I am very curious to see how we approach the match from an athletic and competitive point of view.”

Andrea Bortolussi (Nichelino AIA Section) will referee the fixture, with Abibakr Darwish (Milan AIA Section) and Gianluca Li Vigni (Seregno AIA Section) as assistant referees.
