Primavera 1 2026/27 | What a Show, Verona! The Gialloblù Beat Milan 2-0

Verona - Hellas Verona-Milan ended 2-0 on Matchday 4 of the 2026/27 Primavera 1.

Getting into the match action, Verona started strong and immediately pushed forward in the 2nd minute with an inswinging corner kick. A scramble broke out inside the six-yard box, but no Gialloblù player could poke the ball home.

Milan soon began pressing toward Borghi’s area: in the 5th minute, Anastasio tried his luck with an effort from the edge of the box, deflected into a corner by the home defense.

Following a quiet spell, Albertini fouled Domnitei in the 15th minute from a dangerous position. Nolli whipped in the cross and found Cullotta’s head, but the effort cleared the crossbar.

In the 18th minute, Casagrande slipped away down the left flank and won a corner, which the Rossoneri defense dealt with comfortably. Shortly after, Peci slotted a through ball to Casagrande on the left wing; Verona’s number 19 beat his marker and crossed for Gardin, who got ahead of his defender but fired wide.

Milan threatened again in the 26th minute with a dangerous cross from Tartaglia toward Zaramella. Tagne mistimed his jump, but Contarini averted danger with a crucial intervention before drawing a foul.

In the 32nd minute, Hellas earned a free kick in the attacking third. Peci laid it off short to Garofalo, who fed Contarini; the Verona fullback unleashed a left-footed strike from distance, safely handled by Pantelin.

Verona broke the deadlock in the 39th minute. Milan attempted to play out from the back, but goalkeeper Pantelin misplaced his pass. Akale intercepted the ball and immediately fed Gardin, who finished first-time before the goalkeeper could recover his position, making it 1-0 for Verona.

After 1 minute of stoppage time, the first half concluded at 1-0.

Verona created the first chance of the second half with a team move in the 53rd minute. Costa Pisani delivered a cross from the right, but the Rossoneri defense cleared and counterattacked, forcing Bisoffi into a tactical foul and a yellow card. Milan pushed their defensive line higher in search of an equalizer.

In the 62nd minute, capitalizing on a Milan turnover, Hellas mounted a counter through the Akale-Casagrande duo. The number 19 waited for Contarini's overlapping run, whose cross narrowly missed Gardin in the box.

After an open, scrappy phase, substitute De Rossi made an instant impact in the 76th minute, attempting a dribble and winning a corner that Milan’s backline cleared away.

A few minutes later, Verona had a golden chance to make it 2-0: Peci fired from the edge of the area, the defense blocked it, and De Rossi pounced on the rebound with a right-footed shot. Pantelin parried poorly and Intrabartolo rushed in, but the Rossoneri goalkeeper made a last-ditch save right on the line.

Late in the match, Milan committed numbers forward, leaving gaps for Gialloblù counterattacks.

In the 85th minute, Cavazza broke away on the left and skipped past Colombo, who brought him down. That earned the Rossoneri number 47 a second yellow card, reducing Milan to 10 men.

Verona capitalized on their numerical advantage to seal the win. Another mistake by Pantelin with the ball at his feet allowed Musat to regain possession and find De Rossi in the middle of the box; De Rossi placed a left-footed strike into the net to make it 2-0.

Following 5 minutes of stoppage time, the referee blew the final whistle on a 2-0 victory.

Verona’s next fixture will be on Saturday, September 19, at 3:00 PM, when the Gialloblù visit Torino at the ‘Mazzola’ Stadium for Matchday 5 of the 2026/27 Primavera 1 championship.
