Serie B Femminile 2026/27 | The Gialloblù Host Cesena on Matchday 2

Verona - The Serie B Femminile campaign continues, with the Gialloblù set to take the pitch for their first home match of the league season.

The opponent facing coach De Martino's squad this week is Cesena, led by manager Roberto Rossi. The fixture is scheduled for Saturday, September 12, at 6:00 PM at the 'Olivieri' Stadium. The match will be streamed live on Vivo Azzurro TV .

The Gialloblù are looking to bounce back following two opening defeats this season. Casellato’s second-half goal in last Sunday's league opener was not enough to secure any points on the road against Lumezzane.

Cesena did not feature in the opening round due to the postponement of their match against Vicenza, requested and obtained by the Club owing to several players being away on international duty. The FIFA U20 Women's World Cup is currently taking place in Poland, where the Azzurrine have gotten off to a flying start, aided by contributions from Cesena forward Karen Appiah.

Last season, the Bianconere finished in third place, tallying 17 wins, 2 draws, and 7 losses. Rossi's side enters this clash on the heels of a strong pre-season campaign featuring multiple summer friendlies, highlighted by notable victories over Arezzo and Sassuolo.

Here are the remarks from head coach Vincenzo De Martino ahead of the match: "Throughout the week, we worked on our core tactical principles and prepared for what our opponents might bring. Cesena is an exceptionally strong team; I believe they have what it takes to finish in the top four. We will need maximum focus for the entire ninety minutes, minimizing our mistakes and being clinical in front of goal. Set pieces in our favor will be vital, and we must capitalize on them. Ours is a step-by-step development process that requires time, and we will keep pushing forward on this path."

The match referee will be Francesco Passarotti (AIA Mantova), assisted by Francesco Colucci (AIA Padova) and Davide Carraretto (AIA Treviso).
