Serie B Women 2025/26 | Tomorrow Verona host Lumezzane in the final matchday of the season

Verona – After securing mathematical safety, the Gialloblù are ready to take the field for the 26th matchday of the 2025/26 Serie B Women season, the final fixture of the campaign.

This week, Joan Moll’s side will face Nicoletta Mazza’s Lumezzane. The match is scheduled for Sunday, May 17 at 3 PM at the ‘Olivieri’ Stadium in Verona, and will be streamed live for free on VivoAzzurro TV.

Verona head into the home clash after earning a draw away against Vicenza in the previous round. The match ended 0-0, with both teams coming close to scoring several times in the first half, while allowing fewer chances in the second period. Thanks to the point earned, and also Venezia’s defeat away to Lumezzane, the Gialloblù secured mathematical survival and will compete in the Serie B Women championship for the fifth consecutive season.

Lumezzane have claimed three wins in their last three league matches, confirming themselves as the second strongest team in the league. Verona’s upcoming opponents defeated Arezzo 2-0, Cesena 5-2 and Venezia 4-2. Against Venezia, striker Romina Pinna found the net once again, taking her tally to 17 goals and confirming herself as the league’s top scorer. In the reverse fixture, the match between Hellas and Lumezzane ended 4-1 in favour of the Rossoblù.

These were coach Joan Moll’s comments ahead of the match: “I care a lot about this game because of all the work we’ve done since I arrived, and because of the commitment, dedication and professionalism the players have shown. I believe part of the survival we achieved last week also comes from this: finishing the season well at home against Lumezzane. We want to perform well in front of our fans, on our pitch, in our stadium. I would love to celebrate survival at home with a great performance and a good result against Lumezzane. We’ve worked towards this goal. The message to the team has been very clear: that is our objective. We trained as we do every week because we don’t change our way of working depending on the opponent. What we want most is to create an identity, to be recognisable through our playing style, relationships on the pitch and mental strength. Obviously, we have also studied Lumezzane and we are aware of their strengths. It’s no coincidence they’ve had a great season: they are a team with good ideas and huge potential. It will certainly be a great match. The most important thing, however, will be to approach the game with positivity and initiative, in order to give all Verona supporters an enjoyable match".

The referee for the match will be Federico Bruschi (AIA Ferrara section), assisted by Jonathan Alexander Lanz (AIA Bolzano section) and Alaiddine Ben Marga (AIA Bologna section).
