Serie B Women 2025/26 | Verona return to the Olivieri to face Bologna
Verona – After almost a month, the 2025/26 Serie B Women returns to the ‘Olivieri’ Stadium, with the Gialloblù ready to take the field for matchday 24 of the league.
This week’s opponent for coach Joan Moll’s side is Bologna, managed by Dario Di Donato. The match is scheduled for Sunday, May 3 at 3 PM at the ‘Olivieri’ Stadium in Verona and will be available via free live streaming on VivoAzzurro TV.
Verona head into the match following an away defeat against Res Donna Roma. In the previous round, the Gialloblù took the lead in the first half thanks to a goal by Peretti, but in the second half the hosts came out on top 3-1, with a brace from Palombi and a goal from Ferraresi. Sunday’s match at the Olivieri represents an important opportunity for Hellas to return to winning ways and collect valuable points in the standings. In the hard-fought reverse fixture, Bologna came from behind twice to win 3-2.
Bologna also suffered a defeat in their last match, losing 2-1 to Venezia. In their previous three league games, the Emilian side recorded one draw and two wins, against Freedom, Trastevere and Vicenza respectively. They currently sit fifth in the table with 37 points. Bologna also boast two of the eight players in the league to have reached double figures this season: Sofieke with 12 goals and Rognoni with 10.
These were the words of coach Joan Moll ahead of the match: "It has certainly been a very demanding week in every aspect: workload, both emotional and physical, as well as technical and tactical elements. As always, we approach every training session working on all these factors. We are aware that the end of the season is approaching and that every match represents an opportunity to show our value, to improve and to get closer to the goal we have in mind. The results are not reflecting the work we are doing in training and in matches. The performances are there: the effort, the team’s commitment and also the quality of play are evident. However, all of this is not yet translating into the results we deserve, considering what we show on the pitch, the individual growth of each player and the collective development of the team. But for the work we are doing, for the attitude and for everything we bring onto the pitch, we are convinced that the points will come soon, hopefully starting this week. We have worked by analyzing Bologna, but also by focusing a lot on ourselves, on what we can improve and where we can grow. We always keep our attention on what we can do better, because we believe that this is what makes the difference. When you focus too much on the opponent, you risk limiting yourself; instead, we want to enhance our strengths and continue to grow in order to achieve our objective. We move forward with simplicity, but with great desire for Sunday to come so we can play in our stadium and prove—first of all to ourselves—that we can do it. We want to show, also to others, that we are a united team, confident in our objectives and aware of what we can do to achieve them".
The referee for the match will be Simone Gambin (AIA Udine), assisted by Riccardo Bonicelli (AIA Bergamo) and Elia Sanneris (AIA Mantova).
