Serie B Women 2026/27 | Brescia beat Hellas Verona 2-1 at the 'Rigamonti' Sports Centre

Brescia – Brescia-Hellas Verona, the 3rd matchday of the 2026/27 Serie B Femminile season, ended 2-1.

Turning to the match, the first chance fell to the hosts in the 7th minute. Kuratomi won the ball back on the right and delivered a cross, with Cuciniello turning it behind for a corner. The resulting set piece caused a dangerous scramble inside the Gialloblù penalty area, but the Verona defence managed to clear.

Two minutes later, Verona won their first corner of the match. Montesi escaped her marker and tried a header, but it did not trouble Pucova.

De Martino’s side began to gain ground and started appearing more frequently around Pucova’s area. In the 18th minute came Verona’s first real chance. Vlassopoulou took advantage of a high regain and found De Biase unmarked inside the box. The former Brescia player controlled the ball, shifted it onto her right foot and shot, but her effort was blocked by the home defence. From the rebound, Montesi headed from the edge of the area, sending the ball over the crossbar.

Brescia responded in the 25th minute. Kuratomi, positioned wide on the right, played Licari in behind. Brescia’s No. 18 shot right-footed towards goal, but the effort lacked power and Valzolgher saved comfortably.

Hellas continued to threaten through Montesi’s aerial ability. In the 30th minute, Vlassopoulou delivered a corner towards the No. 11, whose header went wide to the left of Pucova’s goal.

In the 35th minute, Valzolgher kept the score at 0-0 with an excellent reflex save on the goal line. Pasquali went directly for goal from a corner with a dangerous delivery. The ball bounced awkwardly in front of the line, but Verona’s No. 1 managed to keep it out.

Right at the end of the first half, the Gialloblù came within centimetres of taking the lead. In the 45th minute plus two, Cuciniello sent a throw-in into the box from an advanced position and the ball fell to Casellato. The midfielder struck a right-footed volley, but with Pucova beaten, the ball crashed against the crossbar.

After two minutes of added time, the first half ended 0-0.

In the second half, Verona quickly broke the deadlock. In the 53rd minute, Brescia made a mistake while attempting to build from the back, with Nicolini losing possession on the edge of the area. Montesi took full advantage, rounded Pucova with a feint to the left and rolled the ball into the net to make it 0-1 to Hellas.

Brescia pushed forward in search of an equaliser, leaving space for Verona on the counter. In the 62nd minute, Santoro produced an excellent run down the right, beating two opponents before cutting inside to shoot. Her left-footed effort was weak and central, allowing Pucova to gather comfortably.

Two minutes later, Brescia went close to levelling through Cacciamali, who found space to shoot at the end of a well-worked move. Her low right-footed effort was met by an excellent save from Valzolgher, who covered her near post well and turned the ball behind for a corner.

In the 69th minute, Verona had the chance to double their lead, once again on the counter. Santoro found Casellato between the lines, and the No. 14 drove towards goal before unleashing a powerful right-footed shot which struck the side netting.

De Martino’s side were unable to put the match beyond Brescia, and in the 80th minute the hosts found the equaliser. Pasquali cut inside from the right and struck left-footed from the edge of the area. The ball rose, skimmed past the crossbar and found the back of the net beyond the reach of Valzolgher.

Three minutes later, Brescia completed the comeback. Kaabachi shot from outside the area, with the ball looping up after a deflection off the Gialloblù defence and falling to Franco, who volleyed from close range. Cacciamali reacted quickest of all, tapping the ball home past Valzolgher. In the space of three minutes, the hosts turned the match around to take a 2-1 lead.

Hellas tried to respond with the energy they had left. In the 90th minute plus four, Casellato delivered a dangerous free-kick into the area, but no Gialloblù player was able to make contact and the ball drifted narrowly wide.

After five minutes of added time, the match ended 2-1 to Brescia.

Verona’s next fixture will be on Sunday 4 October at 3pm, when the Gialloblù host Moncalieri at the ‘Olivieri’ Stadium in the 4th matchday of the 2026/27 Serie B Femminile season.
