Yellow-Blue youth sector | The focus on the weekend's matches

Verona - Another weekend of matches for the Hellas Verona Youth Sector teams, competing in their respective leagues.

Coach Luigi Pagliuca's Under 18 team are back in action on Monday afternoon, hosting Atalanta at the 'Tavellin' stadium. The Gialloblù are keen to get back to winning ways after two away defeats in the last two league games, both 1-0 against Sassuolo and Lecce. But Atalanta are certainly not an easy opponent, given that there are only 4 points between them and the sixth position, the last one that gives access to the playoffs. The solid defense of the gialloblù, the second best in the league, will have to pay particular attention to the Bergamo strikers Mungari and Bono, with 10 and 9 goals respectively.

Coach Thomas Vicenzi's Under 17 team are back on the road, in Brescia, after their convincing 4-0 win against Venezia on the last matchday. The young Gialloblù's opponents are in the thick of the playoff battle, currently occupying sixth position, and are in desperate need of points after their 0-1 defeat against Cagliari. In the first match, a brace from Galvano, the Rondinelle's striker with 11 goals, gave his team a 3-2 win away to Verona.

The Under 16 team of coach Jacopo De Paolini and the Under 15 team of coach Francesco Caldana will be playing Venezia. Varali and his team-mates are in good spirits in the Under 16 National Championship after their important away win against Udinese (0-1), which allowed them to catch the Friuli team in sixth place in the standings. Now the Gialloblù don't want to stop, but the Veneto derby against the “Lagunari” is always a difficult match, as demonstrated by the 1-1 draw in the first leg. On the other hand, the Under 15s, the team of the league's second top scorer Fortune Egharevba, fared less well in the last round of the championship, failing to take points from Udine and losing 1-0 in Friuli. The very young Gialloblù remain firmly in fifth place, just 4 points from the top, and are keen to repeat their performance in the first round of the season, when on matchday 4 they beat Venezia 0-2 away from home.
