Verona – At the 'Olivieri' stadium, Hellas Verona-Lazio ended 4-2 (on penalties), the round of 16 match of the Coppa Italia Primavera 2025/26.

Moving on to the match report, the game kicks off at the Olivieri stadium with Verona immediately on the front foot. The gialloblù create danger as early as the 7th minute, when Casagrande lays the ball off for De Rossi who, with an individual move, reaches the edge of the box and shoots across goal, sending the ball just wide.

Verona take the lead in the 9th minute. Feola delivers a precise cross to the far post, finding De Rossi, who knocks the ball back into the center of the area where Akale heads it into the net to put the gialloblù ahead.

Lazio try to react in the 33rd minute with a long-range effort: Gelli lays it off for Farcomeni who, from a wide position, attempts a curling shot toward the far post, but Castagnini tracks the ball and lets it run out for a goal kick.

At the end of the half, in the 45th minute, Casagrande becomes dangerous once again with an individual action: he beats an opponent near the touchline and tries a shot from distance, which goes just wide to the right of the post.

The second half opens with Lazio trying to make their presence felt in the 65th minute through Sulejmani, who from the byline serves Montano: the forward sets himself and strikes first time with his left foot, but the shot finishes just over the crossbar.

In the 79th minute, Verona come close to doubling their lead. Szimionas distributes the ball to De Battisti, who sends in a low cross for Vermesan: the number 9 narrowly fails to connect with the assist, as the ball flashes across the face of goal.

The gialloblù keep pushing and in the 82nd minute create another chance from a corner kick. Feola takes an outswinging corner and finds Yildiz, who controls and volleys the ball, but the shot is deflected out for another corner by the biancoceleste defense.

In the closing stages, in the 88th minute, Lazio equalize from the penalty spot, converted by Sulejmani, who restores parity at 1-1. After three minutes of added time, the match ends level and is decided by a penalty shootout.

From the spot, it is Verona who come out on top. The gialloblù win 3-1 thanks to goals from Vermesan, Peci, and Feola, as well as two penalties saved by Castagnini, which prove decisive for progression to the next round.

The next fixture for Verona will be on Monday, January 12 at 1:00 PM, when the gialloblù will travel to face Frosinone in a match valid for the 19th round of the Primavera 1 2025/26 championship.
