Gialloblù Youth Sector | Weekend Match Preview
Verona - Another weekend is just around the corner for our Gialloblù Youth Sector teams.
A month after their last official away fixture, Massimo Pavanel's Primavera return to play an official match away from the friendly confines of the 'Olivieri' stadium. Matchday 7 sees the Gialloblù visit Como, a crucial clash to bounce back from last week's defeat against Lecce. Just one point separates the two sides in the league table, with Verona on 7 points and the Lariani on 6. The match is scheduled for Sunday, October 18, at 1:00 PM at the 'Centro Sportivo Angelo Volontè' in Rovello Porro (Como).
A demanding away fixture also awaits coach Francesco Caldana's Under 18s, who travel to face Inter on Sunday, October 18, at 3:00 PM. The Gialloblù boys come off a convincing 1-0 victory over Cesena, a result that puts them in sixth place. Their opponents have earned more points so far, sitting in fourth place with 12 points, but are coming off a heavy 5-1 defeat against Genoa.
It is a home weekend at the Olivieri for Fabio Moro's Under 17s, who take on Cagliari on Saturday, October 17, at 4:30 PM. The Gialloblù side aim to build on a positive start to the season, marked by just one defeat and a current fourth-place spot in the standings. In the previous round, Moro's squad secured a 2-1 comeback victory away at Padova. Cagliari travel to Verona following a 1-1 draw with Milan and a three-match unbeaten run.
Sunday by Lake Como is also on the cards for the Under 16 and Under 15 teams:
Coach Alessandro Montorio's Under 16s are searching for their first victory of the season after recording 3 draws and 2 defeats in the opening five matchdays. Como are also seeking consistency: the Lariani have secured only a single win, on the opening matchday, and lead the Gialloblù by just one point in the table. Kick-off is set for Sunday, October 18, at 12:00 PM.
Jacopo De Paolini's Under 15s are likewise hunting for redemption after suffering three consecutive league defeats following a strong start. Coming off a comeback loss against Padova, the Gialloblù visit the Lariani aiming to get back on the scoresheet in the standings, where both sides are currently level on points. The match kicks off on Sunday, October 18, at 2:00 PM.
The regional phase campaign resumes for the Under 14s, who had their scheduled league bye week last weekend. Coach Riccardo Bolla's young Gialloblù, unbeaten in their first two matches of the season, pick back up against Udinese, who visit the 'Antistadio Tavellin' on Sunday, October 18, at 3:00 PM.
Franco Arcaro's Under 13s travel to face their Venezia counterparts for Matchday 3, aiming to maintain their perfect start to the campaign. The match is scheduled for Saturday, October 17, at 5:30 PM.
An in-house Hellas Verona derby is set for Daniele Marchi's Under 11s, who will face the Hellas Verona Women's Under 12 squad at the Via Lussemburgo sports facility for Matchday 2 of the 'Esordienti 1° anno - Group 23' league. Kick-off is slated for Saturday, October 17, at 2:30 PM.
On the women's side, the Primavera 1 championship resumes after the international break, with the Gialloblù visiting Sassuolo on Sunday, October 18, at 3:00 PM. Simone Ederle's squad are looking to claim their first points of the campaign following defeats in the opening fixtures. Their opponents head into the clash undefeated, having recorded 2 wins and 1 draw so far.
