Hellas Verona Foundation and Fondazione Valsecchi meet the students of the ‘Seghetti’ Institute

Verona - Today, 21st November, on the occasion of World Pancreatic Cancer Day, Hellas Verona Foundation and ‘Fondazione Valsecchi’ met the students of the 4th classes of the Seghetti Institute to discuss pancreatic cancer research and prevention.

Introducing the meeting was Zaccaria Tommasi, Head of the Technical Area of Hellas Verona Women and Vice Headmaster of the Institute: "As 'Istituto Seghetti' we welcomed the opportunity of this conference, in collaboration with 'Fondazione Valsecchi' and Hellas Verona Foundation, because we believe that addressing issues of this calibre that affect everyone is very important, especially in the presence of great personalities from the medical world. Talking about cancer research is certainly a delicate topic, but it is important for the growth of future generations".

Moderating the debate was Federica Valsecchi, President of ‘Fondazione Valsecchi’: "Today we want to raise awareness among the youngest about the importance of this disease. We sincerely thank Hellas Verona Foundation, which stands beside us on this important day".

Michele Milella, Director of the Oncology Department of the Azienda Universitaria Ospedaliera Integrata (AOUI) of Verona, Roberto Salvia, Director of the Pancreas Surgery Department of the same hospital, and Davide Pasini, Researcher at the University of Verona, took part in the discussion: the three professionals explained the risk factors, symptoms, the current state of research, and the initiatives implemented over the years.
