Primavera 1 2025/26 | The league leaders Fiorentina arrive at “Olivieri”

Verona – Third match in a week for the yellow-and-blues, ready to take the field for the 25th round of the Primavera 1 2025/26 championship.

The Verona side, coached by Fabio Moro, will face Fiorentina coached by Daniele Galloppa. The match will be played at 3:00 PM at the “Olivieri” stadium in Verona.

Hellas come into one of the most difficult matches of the season strengthened by sixth place in the standings, level on points with Lecce. In the past week the yellow-and-blues were defeated away to Juventus 3–1, ending a run of six consecutive positive results, while on Wednesday the defeat came only on penalties in the Coppa Italia Primavera quarter-finals against Atalanta, after a 2–2 draw in regular time. Coach Moro’s boys must now deliver a great team performance, as in the first meeting, to try to stop the advance of coach Galloppa’s team.

Fiorentina were also eliminated in the Coppa Italia quarter-finals, losing 1–0 to Sassuolo during the past week. In the league, however, they have three consecutive positive results, the latest a 3–0 win against Napoli. In the standings the Viola sit on 42 points, leading the championship and eager to keep chasing sides Roma and Parma behind them.

These were the words of coach Fabio Moro on the eve of the match:
“The cup match naturally left a bitter taste, but from the day after we immediately looked ahead, focusing on tomorrow’s match. We want to bounce back right away because we know the importance of this game and also who we are playing against. We face Fiorentina, a team that is complete in every aspect as the table shows. We are aware of their strength, but we go forward with determination and with awareness of the path we must take.”

The referee of the match will be Silvia Gasperotti (AIA section of Rovereto) while the assistants will be Simone Della Mea (AIA section of Udine) and Alberto Callovi (AIA section of San Donà di Piave).
