Primavera 1 2026/2027 | Verona host league leaders Milan
Verona – Following their defeat against Monza, the Gialloblù welcome Milan to the Olivieri Stadium for Matchday 4 of the 2026/27 Primavera 1.
After opening the league campaign with 1 win and 2 defeats, Massimo Pavanel’s side are preparing to face Milan at home, with the aim of returning to winning ways after the home defeat to Monza.
In their last match, the Gialloblù were beaten 2-1 by the Lombardy side, who secured their first win of the season. Verona took the lead in the eighth minute through an Akale move, which picked out Bisoffi’s run into the centre. Monza responded immediately, equalising midway through the first half before scoring the winning goal following a clearance forward that caught the Verona defence by surprise. The Hellas were unable to find an equaliser despite a positive response from the team.
In the next match, Hellas will welcome back Cavazza, who has served a one-match suspension following the red card he received at Viola Park against Fiorentina. Pavanel will also return to the bench after serving his suspension, while all the other players will be available, including Casagrande, who has returned from the Mediterranean Games and already featured in the home defeat to Monza.
Milan will visit the 'Olivieri Stadium' tomorrow, Saturday 12 September (1PM), having recorded a 2-0 win over Juventus and made an unbeaten start to the league campaign with 2 wins and 1 draw. The Rossoneri currently sit top of the table alongside Inter, Roma and Parma, and will be looking to maintain their unbeaten run at the start of the season.
The Milan side, coached by Giovanni Renna, finished last season’s Primavera 1 campaign in 11th place with 49 points, one more than Verona. This season, they have already collected 7 points, beating Torino and Juventus and drawing away to Cesena, who had picked up three points at the Olivieri Stadium on Matchday 1. Verona therefore face a challenging fixture against a side high on confidence and still unbeaten.
Head Coach Pavanel said the following ahead of the match: “We face Milan, a team that have made a very good start to the league, dynamic and with a clear basic system of play, although they move around a lot on the pitch, giving you very few reference points. They have provided continuity in terms of the coaching staff, keeping Coach Renna, who has been at Milan for years and has been able to develop talents, bringing them through to the Primavera. You can see that this is a team that already know what they have to do. They are well ahead of other sides and they are showing that on the pitch. We are coming off a performance that was only good in spells. It was certainly a poorer performance than the one in Florence, but we expect to play our game. Milan always has a special significance for Verona, so we will make sure we are ready.”
The referee for the match will be Marco Zini (Udine AIA Section), with Vittorio Umberto Branzoni (Mestre AIA Section) and Roberto De Stefanis (Udine AIA Section) as assistant referees.
