Primavera 1 2026/27 | Verona and AlbinoLeffe draw 2-2 at the Olivieri

Verona – Hellas Verona and AlbinoLeffe played out a 2-2 draw in Matchday 8 of the 2026/27 Primavera 1 season.

Verona started on the front foot, looking to make the most of the left-sided combination between Casagrande and Contarini. In the 7th minute, the Gialloblù number 16 reached the byline and delivered a cross for Garofalo, who timed his run perfectly. The midfielder struck the ball first time with his right foot from the centre of the box, narrowly clearing the crossbar.

In the 13th minute, the Gialloblù won a dangerous free-kick in the attacking third. Peci took the set-piece and went for goal, but his effort missed the target.

Pavanel’s side began to pin their opponents back in their own half, but the visitors took the lead with their first real opportunity. In the 19th minute, Tagne cleared a dangerous cross from the left, but the ball fell straight to Rinaldi. The AlbinoLeffe forward controlled it, shifted it onto his foot and shot from the heart of the penalty area, beating Raccanello at his near post. The score at the Olivieri was 0-1.

Verona responded through their captain. In the 29th minute, Buniotto brought down a superb ball and, with his back to goal, laid it off to Peci, who struck first time from the edge of the box. The visitors’ defence got in the way and the ball went out for a corner.

In the 36th minute, Hellas came close to equalising. Casagrande produced a fine individual run down the left before delivering an outside-of-the-boot cross with his right foot for Bisoffi. The number 92, positioned inside the six-yard box, struck the ball on the volley but sent it over the bar.

Verona continued to press, determined to make it 1-1 before half-time. In the 39th minute, Casagrande threatened twice from the left side of the attacking third. His first effort, a shot across goal, narrowly missed the post to Carrara’s right, while his second, a curling attempt towards the far post, went just wide.

Hellas’ sustained pressure culminated in an equaliser in the 45th minute. Casagrande played the ball out wide to Contarini, who crossed for Bisoffi. The number 92’s volley was blocked by the AlbinoLeffe defence, but Costa Pisani reacted quickest to the rebound and scored from close range to make it 1-1.

After the Gialloblù’s goal, the first half ended without any added time, with the score level at 1-1.

Verona came close to taking the lead shortly after the restart. In the 49th minute, Casagrande picked out Buniotto in the box, and the forward laid the ball off for Costa Pisani’s overlapping run. The Gialloblù player stretched to reach it but narrowly failed to make contact.

Casagrande continued to be the most dangerous player on the pitch, particularly from distance. In the 53rd minute, the Gialloblù winger tried another curling effort from the left, but his right-footed shot drifted narrowly wide of the visitors’ goal.

Verona’s efforts were rewarded with the go-ahead goal. In the 63rd minute, Cavazza carried the ball for 40 metres down the right flank before laying it off to Garofalo. The Gialloblù midfielder struck first time but hit an opponent. The rebound fell to Casagrande in the centre of the box, and he finished with his right foot to put Hellas 2-1 ahead.

Verona’s lead lasted just 120 seconds. In the 65th minute, the visitors immediately made it 2-2 through Brambilla, who made a run into the centre of the box and, after receiving the ball from the left, beat Raccanello to restore parity.

Verona refused to settle for a draw and immediately went in search of another goal. In the 74th minute, Casagrande once again got away from the visitors’ defence before laying the ball back for substitute Gardin. He struck first time, but Carrara did well to gather the ball low down.

AlbinoLeffe also came close to making it 3-2. In the 81st minute, Delcarro unleashed a left-footed shot from distance, forcing Raccanello to produce a fine save and turn the ball behind for a corner.

In the final ten minutes, Hellas pushed forward in search of the goal that would secure all three points. The Gialloblù won a series of corners but were unable to trouble the Blu-Celesti defence.

After four minutes of added time, the match ended 2-2.

Verona’s next fixture is on Wednesday 28 October at 3pm, when the Gialloblù face Pro Vercelli at the ‘Olivieri’ stadium in the Round of 32 of the Primavera Coppa Italia.
