'Sante Begali' Award | Zappa tops the table after Matchday 10

At the end of the first ten matchdays of Serie BKT 2026/27, Gabriele Zappa leads the standings for the 'Sante Begali' Award, the accolade dedicated to the memory of the great former Gialloblù player and long-time Verona captain between 1949 and 1962, who passed away in 2008 and is remembered for his exemplary fair play on the pitch. The award will be presented at the end of the season to the Hellas Verona player with the best disciplinary record relative to minutes played.

The Gialloblù full-back, who arrived in the summer from Cagliari, has yet to receive any disciplinary sanctions across his 798 league minutes in a Verona shirt. Climbing the rankings behind him is Amin Sarr, who sat in fifth place after the opening five rounds. The Verona number 9 has received just one yellow card, during Benevento-Hellas Verona, in his 724 minutes on the pitch. Edoardo Iannoni rounds out the top three on the podium, having avoided any yellow cards throughout 569 minutes of play.

Completing the top five are Samuele Mulattieri and Simone Perilli. Neither has entered the referee’s notebook, having played 482 and 450 minutes, respectively.
