Serie B Femminile 2026/27 | The Gialloblù take on San Marino Academy

San Marino - Following the weekend off for the international break, Hellas are back in league action, traveling away to face San Marino Academy.

The match, valid for Matchday 5 of Serie B Femminile 2026/27, will take place on Sunday, October 18 at 3:00 PM and will be broadcast live via streaming on VivoAzzurro TV. Ahead of kickoff, on the occasion of the International Day of the Girl Child, three young girls wearing Division caps will walk out onto the pitch with the team captains and the referee, displaying a banner featuring the campaign slogan: "Libere di essere. Libere di diventare" ("Free to be. Free to become").

The squad led by head coach Vincenzo De Martino returns to the pitch following the short break, which saw Sara Ketis and Alice Zaghini feature on international duty with their respective national teams.

The Gialloblù midfielder came on late in the second leg between Slovenia and Turkey, valid for the first round of World Cup qualifying, which finished 2-0 in favor of the hosts. Meanwhile, Hellas’ number 2 received a call-up to the newly formed San Marino national team ahead of their upcoming fixtures scheduled for November.

Coming off a 0-0 home draw against Moncalieri, Hellas Verona Women have collected 4 points from as many matches so far, courtesy of 1 win, 1 draw, and 2 defeats. In their third away fixture of the season, the Gialloblù will take on San Marino Academy, who held a two-goal lead at halftime in their last outing away at Vicenza. A second-half comeback from the hosts sealed a 2-2 final draw, preventing the Titane from claiming all three points.

Nonetheless, the point earned at Vicenza, combined with an away victory at Bologna the week before, signaled a turnaround for coach Giacomo Piva's side. Over the first two rounds of the campaign, the Sammarinese team suffered defeats against Arezzo and Res Donna Roma, in addition to an early Coppa Italia exit at the hands of Catania.

Here are the pre-match thoughts of head coach Vincenzo De Martino on the eve of the clash: "During the break, we regained some energy and continued working on our playing principles. We are ready for Sunday; we'll be facing an opponent level with us on points in the table. San Marino Academy are a very compact side on the pitch, so we'll need patience to find the right spaces and attack with intent to try and take the win."

The match referee will be Andrea Norci (AIA Arezzo), assisted by Eleonora Saccoccio (AIA Formia) and Sara Silenzi (AIA San Benedetto del Tronto).
