Serie BKT 2026/27 | Verona win 1-0 at the ‘Menti’

Castellammare di Stabia – Hellas Verona beat Juve Stabia 1-0 at the ‘Menti’ in Matchday 9 of the 2026/27 Serie BKT season.

Verona created the first opening in the sixth minute, when Edmundsson met a corner with a header that went narrowly wide of Vukovic’s goal.

Frese delivered another dangerous corner in the 13th minute. This time, Slotsager connected with a header on target, but the home defence blocked his effort.

Five minutes later, the hosts threatened Perilli’s goal. After winning possession high up the pitch from Iannoni, Sibilli shot from the centre of the box, but the Verona goalkeeper was alert and turned the ball behind for a corner.

In the 30th minute, Hellas came close with another dangerous header. Zappa crossed from the right and picked out Ekuban in the centre of the box. The No. 81 rose well but sent the ball over the crossbar.

Four minutes later, Patanè raced down the right and waited for Maggioni’s overlapping run before playing him in near the byline. The Juve Stabia full-back delivered a dangerous cross that Edmundsson cleared behind for a corner.

After one minute of added time, the first half ended goalless.

Juve Stabia created the first chance after the break, with Di Nardo’s 50th-minute header comfortably gathered by Perilli.

In the 57th minute, Verona created their best opportunity to break the deadlock. Sezonienko and Mulattieri won the ball in midfield, allowing Iannoni to make a forward run. The Gialloblù No. 44 carried the ball to the edge of the box and unleashed a powerful left-footed shot that narrowly cleared the crossbar.

Two minutes later, the hosts responded. Artioli took a free-kick directly on goal from a promising position, but Perilli gathered the ball at the second attempt.

In the 67th minute, Hellas launched a counter-attack after Bernede won possession and found Mulattieri centrally. The No. 19 played the ball out to Sezonienko on the right, who crossed for Ekuban. The home defence cleared the ball into Iannoni’s path, but his first-time effort on the run flew over the bar.

Three minutes later, Verona threatened again down the right. Sezonienko kept the ball in play near the byline and set up Zappa, who crossed from inside the box for Ekuban. The Gialloblù No. 81 struck first time, forcing Vukovic to preserve the score with a save using his feet.

In the 75th minute, Sibilli finished off a Juve Stabia counter-attack by taking on Zappa and shooting with his left foot, but the ball hit the outside of the net.

Hellas continued to push down the flanks in search of the opener. Livramento received the ball on the left, cut inside onto his right foot and shot at Vukovic, who gathered the effort centrally.

Verona finally broke the deadlock in the closing stages. In the 87th minute, Bernede won possession from a Juve Stabia corner and sent Sarr away on the counter-attack. The No. 9 advanced before playing the ball inside for the onrushing Harroui, who kept his composure one-on-one with Vukovic and finished with the inside of his right foot, finding the net via the inside of the post. Verona led 1-0 at the ‘Menti’.

The hosts pushed forward in search of an equaliser, leaving space for Hellas to counter. Deep into added time, Le Borgne carried the ball to the edge of the box before slipping a through ball into Sarr’s path, but Vukovic turned it behind for a corner.

After three minutes of added time, the match ended 1-0 to Verona.

The Gialloblù’s next fixture is on Sunday 1 November at 5.15PM, when they host Carrarese at the ‘Bentegodi’ in Matchday 10 of the 2026/27 Serie BKT season.
