#VeronaCamp40ne | ‘The only ones in the history’: All the activities organised by the Club are officially presented / VIDEO

Verona - All the activities organised by the Club to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Scudetto won in the 1984/85 season were officially unveiled this morning, Thursday 3rd April, at the Due Torri Hotel.

The event was opened by the Executive President of Hellas Verona, Italo Zanzi, who greeted those present on behalf of the whole club.

"I want to thank our champions for being here today. You have brought eternal joy to this city and it is our duty to continue to fight for this shirt with the same commitment that you have shown. I would also like to thank Tomas Suslov for his presence, the Mayor Damiano Tommasi and all our fans, because they are the support that helps the team and the club grow every day. It has been an honour for us to work for this Club since day one: we have realised the passion of the city and we will always fight for it. The 1984/85 Scudetto is and always will be an eternal victory and above all a victory for everyone. We want to relive it every day. Forza Hellas".

The Mayor of Verona, Damiano Tommasi, also attended the event. These are his words: "I have many memories connected to the Scudetto: first of all the voice of Roberto Puliero, especially in one match in particular, Udinese-Verona. Another great memory is linked to the honour of being called by Bagnoli to replace Di Gennaro during the celebratory match for the twenty-fifth anniversary: just imagine a young fan being called up to play with his idols. I'd like to point out that these champions are still part of our city community, so there will be a way for us to thank and celebrate them too. That magical moment for Hellas Verona is part of all our history".

After the institutional greetings, the stage was handed over to some of the protagonists of the 1984/85 Scudetto victory. Pierino Fanna, Luigi Sacchetti, Domenico Volpati and Hans Peter Briegel were present at the event and shared some anecdotes and memories related to that historic achievement.

After the moment dedicated to the Gialloblù Legends present, the Club presented all the special initiatives designed to celebrate the 40th anniversary of a triumph that marked an indelible chapter in the history of Hellas Verona and Italian football. These activities, designed to pay tribute to that success, will involve Gialloblù fans and all enthusiasts.

OFFICIAL ALBUM AND VINYL

The first initiatives to be presented were those promoted by Migross - who last February launched a sticker album that traces the more than 120 years of Verona's history, with a special tribute to the 1984/85 Italian champions - and Saifam who, in collaboration with Hellas Verona, produced and distributed the official commemorative vinyl of the anniversary.

The 33 rpm record contains all the historic songs of the 80s linked to the yellow and blue colours, and will be available for pre-order from tomorrow, Friday 4th April, on the official Saifam website in a limited edition version numbered 500 copies. The black vinyl version will be available for purchase at the Hellas Store in Via Cattaneo, on the official e-commerce site of Hellas Verona and in newsagents starting from the first week of May. Part of the proceeds from the sale of the vinyl will go to the Hellas Verona Foundation.

THE BOOK

The matches, the sensations, and the testimonies of the protagonists of that magical season are collected, instead, in the book ‘Lo Scudetto del Verona, Ricordi, Racconti e retroscena 40 anni dopo l'impresa’ written by Paolo Condò together with Adalberto Scemma, published by Solferino.

The club was keen to launch this initiative to commemorate a season that will remain in history forever. The book, with a preface by Tim Parks, is already available for pre-order on Amazon and will be on sale online on the Hellas Verona e-commerce site from this afternoon, Thursday 3rd April. From tomorrow, Friday 4th April, it will also be available for purchase at the Hellas Store in Via Cattaneo, Verona.

The book will also be available from 18th April in bookshops in Verona and other major Italian cities, in newsagents in Verona and the surrounding area, and online on the Amazon, IBS and Mondadori digital platforms.

THE EXHIBITION

Also on the occasion of this important anniversary, the Club has decided to open the doors of the stadium ‘Bentegodi’ to retrace with the fans all the stages of the journey that led Bagnoli's men to conquer the Tricolore.

The emotional journey will include archive photos, newspaper pages and the shirts worn by the Gialloblù in the 1984/85 season and also in the following one, 1985/86, with the Scudetto stitched on the chest. The exhibition, completely free of charge, will be open to everyone from 5th to 9th May, every afternoon from 5 pm to 9 pm.

Visitors can either enter the exhibition freely or take one of the guided tours, which leave every 30 minutes. Reservations are required and can be made via the Eventbrite app starting in mid-April. Further information will be communicated at a later date.

HELLAS VERONA-LECCE

On 12th May 1985, Verona were crowned Italian champions. This year, on the weekend of 10th and 11th May, the Hellas Verona-Lecce match, on the 36th fixture of the 2024/25 Serie A Enilive, will be the stage for the celebrations of that achievement. A choreographed celebration in the east and west stands of the stadium will colour the Bentegodi and just before kick-off the players of Verona 1984/85 will be called to the touchline, giving them the opportunity to greet all the fans present and celebrate this historic milestone with them once again.

THE ANNIVERSARY KIT

Precisely on the occasion of the match against Lecce, the players of coach Zanetti's first team will wear the fourth special jersey created by Joma, technical partner of Hellas Verona. The special jersey is based on the second jersey of the 1984/85 season worn by Mr Bagnoli's team, the very one the Gialloblù wore on the day of Atalanta-Verona, in the match that sealed their victory as Italian champions. Further details on the shirt can be found HERE.

The kits worn by the Gialloblù during the match against the salentini will then be auctioned on MatchWornShirt and the proceeds will be donated to Hellas Verona Foundation to help the associations that our Foundation supports.
