Women's Serie B 2026/27 | Gialloblù defeated away at Bologna
Verona - Bologna-Hellas Verona ended 4-0 on Matchday 7 of the 2026/27 Women's Serie B.
Turning to the match action, the hosts took the lead on their very first opportunity. Rognoni, operating on the right side of the final third, slipped a pass through to Di Luzio, who expertly caught the Gialloblù center-back pairing off guard. The number 19 brought the ball down one-on-one against Bucci and slotted home with her left foot to make it 1-0.
After surviving an early wave of Bologna pressure, Vincenzo De Martino's side began to push toward Pasar’s goal. In the 17th minute, Zito attempted a first-time volley inside the box off a corner from the right, but failed to find the target.
Two minutes later, Merli pounced on a lapse in concentration from Pasar at the edge of the area. The number 7 gathered possession and fired a left-footed strike, but the Rossoblù goalkeeper redeemed herself by smothering the effort. In the 29th minute, Arcangeli unleashed a left-footed effort from the right edge of the penalty box, forcing Bucci to dive and make the stop.
With no stoppage time added, the first half came to a close with Bologna holding a 1-0 lead.
In the second half, the opening 15 minutes were completely dominated by the Rossoblù. In the 53rd minute, Di Luzio broke into the penalty area from the right and beat Bucci with a delicate lob that dipped under the crossbar and nestled into the back of the net.
The Gialloblù were visibly shaken by the blow and conceded the 3-0 just two minutes later. A flicked header caught the Verona backline flat-footed, allowing Arcangeli to find herself bearing down on Bucci once again before finishing with a clinical right-footed angled drive that left the Scaligero keeper with no chance.
In the 57th minute, the home side put the result beyond doubt through a powerful header from Lähteenmäki, who rose above everyone on Battelani's free kick to beat Bucci for the fourth time.
Over the final half-hour, the hosts dialed back the tempo, allowing Hellas to venture into Pasar's territory on several occasions; however, long-range efforts from the Gialloblù never truly troubled the Bologna defense.
Following 4 minutes of stoppage time, the final whistle blew on a 4-0 victory for Bologna.
Verona's next fixture takes place on Sunday, November 8 at 2:30 PM, when the Gialloblù host Arezzo at the 'Olivieri' stadium on Matchday 8 of the 2026/27 Women's Serie B.
