Yellow-Blue youth sector | The focus on the weekend's matches
Verona - After the Christmas break, the Hellas Verona youth teams will be back on the pitch this weekend in their respective championships.
The Under 18 of coach Luigi Pagliuca will be engaged in the postponement of the 17th fixture of the National Under 18 Championship, against Monza. The match will be played at the ‘Tavellin’ antistadium on Tuesday 14th January at 3 PM, and the match will be visible on our Facebook channel HVGiovanili, with commentary. An important challenge for the Yellow-Blue boys, who will face a team that is just two points up in the standings, at 17, while Albertini and his teammates are stuck at 15. The Yellow-Blue come from a 1-0 defeat against Parma, after a 1-0 win against Fiorentina the previous day. Monza, on the other hand, have just returned from a good home draw against Sassuolo, 1-1, and an away win against Sampdoria, 1-2. To score points, coach Pagliuca's boys will need to start from their certainties, such as the defensive phase, with a team that has conceded just 20 goals in 16 matches, and is currently the third best defence in the league, behind only Cesena and Roma with 19 goals conceded.
The Under 17 team of coach Thomas Vicenzi will instead have to visit Atalanta in the 14th fixture of the National Under 17 Group B Championship. Rounding the halfway point of the season for the Yellow-Blue, who are immediately expected to face a highly difficult challenge, on the field of one of the candidates for access to the playoffs, currently in fourth place. The first match ended 1-2 in favour of the Bergamo team, with goals from Cojacairu and Kolakovic that made Demichei's penalty goal useless for the Yellow-Blue.
For the Under 16 team of coach Jacopo De Paolini and the Under 15 team of coach Francesco Caldana, the 14th fixture of the championship will also be the first match of the second half of the season. Both teams will be guests of Monza, and both are in the fight for the playoff zone. Currently the Under 16 is in sixth position with 22 points, the last free slot for access to the final phase of the championship, with the opponent of the day which is currently fourth with 24 points.
The Under 15 is instead in third position at 27 points with the opponents from Brianza just three points behind in sixth position. Both matches are therefore very important for the classification and the playoff zone, although the championship is still long. In the first match the Under 16 gave way to the Brianzoli 1-2, while the Under 15 did not manage to go beyond the 0-0.
