2024/25 Serie A Enilive | What a Verona! Against Napoli at the ‘Bentegodi’ it ends 3-0
Verona-Hellas Verona-Napoli, 1st fixture of 2024/25 Serie A Enilive 2024, has come to an end with the result of 3-0.
Coming to the report, it was a hard-fought first half in tight spaces at the ‘Bentegodi’. Hellas tried to make an appearance upfront in the 4th minute with Kastanos, but the yellow-blue number 20's long pass failed to reach Livramento.
In the 10th minute, on the stroke of a free-kick taken by Politano, Kvaratskhelia shot weakly: an easy catch for Montipò. In the 19th minute Napoli made an appearance in the yellow-blue number 1's box, this time with Politano, who kicked hard from the edge of the box but the ball ended up in corner.
In the 30th minute Frese, who overlapped with Lazovic, crossed at the back post, which Tchatchoua almost managed to grab to finish.
In the 43rd minute Politano finds Lobotka with a low cross who, from the edge of the area, kicks high over the crossbar. In the 45‘+1’ Kvaratskhelia tried to make a run down the right, coming face-to-face with Montipò, but Tchatchoua, on the slip, did not let him get past him and pushed the number 77's effort away for a corner.
In the second half, Hellas started strongly. In the 48th minute Kastanos tried a left-footed shot, but the ball went just inches wide to the right of Napoli's number 1.
Livramento opened the scoring in the 50th minute. The number 14 controlled Lazovic ‘s right-footed cross from outside the box and, from just a few strikes, volleyed it past Meret.
In the 54th minute it was Hellas again. Tchatchoua put in a low but tense cross, yet no team-mate could get to the ball in the right time.
In the 61st minute Di Lorenzo found Anguissa in the back line, who kicked first time from the edge of the box and hit the crossbar. In the 69th minute it was Di Lorenzo who tried a deflected shot, Montipò with his left foot pushed the ball away for a corner.
In the 75th minute it's doubled Hellas' advantage. Duda recovered the ball and immediately attempted a through ball for Mosquera who, with his physical skill, managed to get past the Napoli defence and beat Meret from close range.
In the 82nd minute Tchatchoua flew down the flank, skipping past the neapolitan defender, his cross found Mosquera who, on the turn, shot high into the mirror: the Napoli number 1 stretched out and put the ball away for a corner.
In the 90+1 minute Ngonge tried a distant shot but it didn't surprise Montipò, who pushed it away.
Hellas closed out the game in the 90+3' with a brace signed by Daniel Mosquera, on an assist from Lazovic who sent the Gialloblù number 35 into touch with the goalkeeper.
After 5 minutes of extra time, Hellas Verona-Napoli ended at the ‘Bentegodi’ with the result 3-0.
Verona's next match will be on Monday 26 August ( 8.45pm) when the Yellow-Blues will face Juventus at the “Bentegodi”, a match valid for match 2nd fixture of 2024/25 Serie A Enilive.
