InJob Verona | Verona attending 'Work, Leadership and Talent: the journey of women in the professional world'

Verona - On the afternoon of today, Wednesday, March 26th, Hellas Verona participated in the event 'Work, Leadership and Talent: the journey of women in the professional world,' organized by InJob, which took place at the headquarters of Confindustria Verona.

The meeting, moderated by Monica D'Ascenzo, financial journalist for Sole 24 Ore and expert on diversity and inclusion, divided into two panels, offered a concrete reflection on how companies can break down structural barriers and fully value female talent, turning inclusion into a competitive advantage, combining corporate vision and sportsmanship to explore how diverse leadership can drive innovation and growth.

The opening greetings were given by the Mayor of Verona, Damiano Tommasi, who thanked those in attendance, and Chiara Brentegani, President of the Confindustria Verona Young Entrepreneurs Group.

Taking part in the event in the first panel were Zaccaria Tommasi (Head of Technical Area Hellas Verona Women), Rachele Peretti (Captain of the Hellas Verona Women First Team), Alessandro Ramagli (Coach Scaligera Basket), Renzo Soave (President Alpo Basket) and Martina Rosignoli (Captain Alpo Basket).

In particular, Rachele Peretti spoke about her role as captain of the Yellow-blue women's First team: “Starting this year I have the responsibility of being the captain of my team, and I don't deny that this aspect initially caused me some concern, because of the many responsibilities this role requires. I think the difference, however, is made by people: in my first experience as captain, I tried to take the best from those who guided me in past seasons. This is also what I try to do with my teammates, who know how much I believe in interpersonal relationships and team strength. For me, being a leader does not mean being above someone, but rather getting help and always learning something from others as well”.

On her path of personal growth and studies, Peretti added, “I decided to pursue my studies in parallel with football because I have always thought that education was a priority, and I am happy to have graduated with a degree in communication science in 2015 and a degree in education in 2022”. Finally, about the beginning of her football career, she said, “As a child, I only made a short run in the men's team in my town because I was lucky enough to have a women's football club near my home where I later moved. For me, playing with the boys was never a problem because I was already doing it on the street, and this helped me a lot from a technical point of view”.

Zaccaria Tommasi illustrated her role in Hellas Verona's women's football scene, telling how the Yellow-Blue Club is also committed to the involvement of younger people, especially students: “As Hellas Verona we have already started the School Project for many years and this year about 130 institutions are part of it. I am fortunate to work with these girls, whom I have also involved in the meetings we periodically organize on women's sports, for example on the occasion of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women on November 25th. The recurring theme is the journey from female athletes who had to unhinge exclusively male sporting realities to the goal of professionalism in Italian women's football reached in 2022. It is good to see how, even in schools with the majority of male students, more and more interest and curiosity is shown about our female players and their stories”.
