Venturi: “It's going to be a difficult match against a strong team with great competitiveness”
Verona - Hellas Verona Women return home as they take on top-ranked Ternana at the 'Olivieri' stadium tomorrow, Sunday, March 23 at 12 PM, a match valid for the 23rd fixture of the 2024/25 Serie B Femminile.
The match will be broadcast as usual on VivoAzzurro TV, an online platform on which to register for free to follow all the matches of our women's team.
The Gialloblù formation, fresh from another important victory obtained on the last matchday against Pavia thanks to the goals of Mancuso, Casellato and Peretti, has so far won 25 points in the league, 15 of which were obtained in the last seven challenges against Arezzo, San Marino, Vis Mediterranea, Orobica and Pavia in the last match.
Ternana, on the other hand, is currently in first place in the standings with 57 points, the result of 18 wins, three draws and only one loss. The Umbrians have so far scored 55 goals, eleven of which bear the signature of Adriana Faria Gomes, and conceded 16.
In the first leg, on the 8th fixture of the championship played last November 3, the match ended 4-1 with goals by Pirone, Bonetti and Faria Gomes' double, all following the initial Gialloblù lead signed in the 29th minute by Verona's number 9, Veronica Bernardi.
These are the words of coach Giacomo Venturi on the eve of the match: “It will be a really difficult match, the typical challenge in which to bring home points there can be no margin for error. Tomorrow we face a team that is strong in all respects, from individuality to the mentality with which it imposes its pace of play. However, we are in a good moment and this challenge will be like a test for us, to see how competitive we can be against formations of this level. We are eager to field all our skills and the fundamentals we have been working on in recent months to give our best. Right now there is enthusiasm for the second round we are doing, but the efforts we have made in the last few matches also involve some physical and mental fatigue. We want to continue on this path and finish the championship in the best possible way. Tomorrow it would be nice to see support from the stands, because the support of our fans always gives us a hand and a lot of courage, especially in a difficult game like this”.
